Shenzhen and Taipei – August 11, 2017 - Skyworth Digital Co., Ltd. (“Skyworth Digital”) and ALi Corporation (“ALi”) today announced a joint venture to develop, market and distribute highly integrated system-on-chip products for smart devices.

The joint venture will capitalize on Skyworth Digital’s broad system-level knowledge of smart devices and intimate understanding of China market as well as ALi’s extensive expertise in semiconductors and software engineering. The joint venture will focus on smart devices market in China.

ALi Corporation (3041 TT) today held its 2017 second quarter online earnings conference and announced consolidated revenue of NT$899 million, consolidated gross profit of NT$255 million with consolidated gross profit margin of 28%, consolidated operating loss of NT$143 million, net loss of NT$99 million, and basic earnings per share of -NT$0.34 for the second quarter ended June 30th, 2017.

ALi Corporation stated that second quarter revenue reached NT$899 million, representing 19% quarter-over-quarter and 13% year-over-year growth rates, respectively. The quarter-over-quarter growth was boosted by higher contribution from free-to-air STB markets and year-over-year growth was mainly due to contribution from Pay-TV operator segment. Gross profit margin went up one percentage point compared to the level of previous quarter. The operating expense was NT$398 million, up 14% quarter-over-quarter mainly because of higher tape-out expense.

Free-to-air STB, Pay-TV operator STB and others (non-STB) accounted for 55~60%, 35~40% and 5~10% of the total consolidated revenue, respectively, in the second quarter.

ALi Corporation (3041 TT) today announced its unaudited consolidated revenue for July 2017 reached NT$ 273 million, representing -23% month-over-month and 7% year-over-year growth rates , respectively.

The year-over-year sales increase was mainly due to contribution from free-to-air high definition and operator segments.
